My present career is as an Assistant Professor at WSU in the School of Nursing, expanding my private practice of integrative therapies with the Hermitage Farm Professional Group Practice in Rochester, MN and at Charter House, Mayo Clinic.
I am a masters prepared Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) with over 22 years of experience as a Cardiovascular and Critical Care CNS at Saint Mary’s Hospital, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. My professional nursing career development experience of over 30 years includes Cardiovascular CNS, Critical Care CNS, Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at a private college, and Staff RN.
My experience has included direct nursing care, program development, research, national presentations, and two chapter publications, one on CNS Clinical Case Management of high risk complex patients and another on Professional Nurse Caring.
I am certified as a Gerontological CNS, and have always had great respect and appreciation for the wisdom, spirituality and intuition of elders before me. This is a gift I received from my “Grandma Rose” very early in life. I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Saint Teresa and my Master of Science degree from the University of Minnesota. I have always had a passion for holistic nursing, which includes complementary and integrative therapies.
My complementary and integrative therapy practice includes breathing pathways, relaxation techniques, visualization, guided imagery, healing touch and energy modulation, acupressure and music. An area of subspecialty professional development and independent practice includes my work with energy therapies.
I have completed all levels of healing touch training through Healing Touch International and all levels of training in the program “Transforming Your Life Through Energy Medicine” (TYLEM) through Energy Medicine Partnerships Inc… My mentor and faculty for the TYLEM program of advanced energy modulation was Dr. Mary Jo Bulbrook, the founder of Energy Medicine Partnerships Inc. I am a doctoral candidate working on completion of my Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the University of Minnesota.
Personal
I grew up on a farm in southeastern Minnesota with beautiful bluffs, horses and a love of nature, boating and golfing. I have two sons and a daughter. My entire family shares a love of outdoors and musical background. We have great fun at family celebrations and value cross generational caring, sharing, and spirituality.
This now leads me excited to embark on a lifelong dream of private practice of holistic nurse caring through https://essaytogether.com/ integrative therapies to enhance cross generational health and healing.
